1. This week there’s a lot going on within the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) ecosystem as markets have been on fire and infrastructure continues to grow. Over the past six months, the price of BCH is up over 139 percent, and the price has jumped 13 percent higher over the last seven days. At the moment the value of BCH hovers just above the $1,500 USD price region, and traders have been swapping over $1.2Bn worth of bitcoin cash over the last 24-hours.

2. In what seems like the latest sign concerns are impacting initial coin offerings (ICOs) broadly, Seattle-based Dragonchain is forcing one of its affiliate projects, Norwegian startup Iagon, to return funds it raised from investors back in April - and it's currently unclear why.

4. Blockchain may be known to 66% of chief information officers (CIOs) but only 22% plan on using it, a new survey from Gartner released May 3 claims.

 5. In a unanimous vote Tuesday, the city council of Berkeley, Calif., took a step toward approving the issuance of a blockchain-based "microbond."

6. Viber may be treated like Telegram if security services are not able to obtain its encryption keys, Russia’s telecom minister said. The app offers end-to-end encryption, and is the most popular messenger in several Eastern European countries. Recently, its CEO, Michael Shmilov, said the company would not be able to hand over the keys.

7. Reddit’s CTO blamed “high fees” for the platform no longer accepting Bitcoin payments in an interview May 2, but hinted they may soon return to the platform.

8. Tempers flared during a cryptocurrency panel hosted at the Milken Institute 21st Global Conference, in Beverly Hills, California with discussions degenerating to profanity as Nouriel Roubini, also known as ‘Dr. Doom,’ described bitcoin’s purported decentralization as “bullshit.” In addition to the comedy of Mr. Roubini, the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) chairman offered measured comments regarding the need to respect the “generational” nature of the booming interest surrounding the cryptocurrency markets.
